Beautiful to visit, rich in nature and archaeology, rife with ancient cities, and a myriad of fabulous beaches, the Turkish Riviera is also known as the Turquoise Coast. And for those who still are not sure where that is exactly, the Turkish Riviera stretches approximately six hundred miles long from Antalya Province almost to Izmir Province on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea.
Some of the cities that compose the Turquoise Coast are Alanya, Antalya, Belec, Bodrum, Çesme, Dalaman, Fethiye, Kalkan, Lara, Milas, Ovacik, Seki and Yalikavak. When the ancient Greeks compiled the Seven Wonders of the World, two were found in the Turkish Riviera. The Mausoleum at Halicarnassus, built in 353 BC and named after the ruler, Mausolus, was how the word “mausoleum” derived. The other Wonder was the Temple of Artemis where today only a single column stands to mark the historical location. One can see why this area might be appealing for investing or living.
Searching the property listings for Turkey, villas on the Turquoise Coast are in abundance. Many are part of a larger hotel infrastructure with shops, restaurants and beaches while others are within various gated communities. Of course others are free standing structures with no ties to other organizations.
Villas in Turkey are available for all budgets and lifestyles. For example, tourists requiring accommodation for a short period of time may rent one of the many villas available. Others looking for long-term arrangements may choose furnished or unfurnished villas. And then of course, for those interested in new properties, pre-construction villas are available as well.
Choosing a villa will also depend on the amount of activities in which a family wishes to participate. Belek, for instance, offers golfing, scuba diving, horseback riding, and yachting. For those interested in snow skiing, Mount Tahtali would be the perfect location for a villa. Villas in Ovacik offer the solitude of nature with beautiful wooded areas but they are still found close enough to major centers to enjoy shopping and nightlife if one chooses.
Villas come in long rows of attached buildings or they can be found as detached units. Some are very large with four bedrooms and baths, Jacuzzi, full kitchen with dishwasher, fridge, stove and washing machine. Most come with air conditioning and heating systems as well. Pricing for rentals ranges from about £200 per week to £1000 depending on the area and the amenities. And remember that on the Turkish Riviera, if one is booking a £200 per week villa, he/she is not choosing the bottom of the barrel. Most of the listings reviewed that offered such inexpensive prices showed magnificent properties that slept six people, had private gardens, fabulous views, two bathrooms, balconies, furnished terraces with dining tables, and communal pools.
Considerable discounts were offered for the longer one rented the unit. Investors purchasing for the sole purpose of renting a villa could expect to realize their complete return on investment within six to seven years. Someone who decides early enough to purchase retirement property could build their perfect villa, rent it for a number of years, then when ready to retire, move into a home that is completely free of debt.
